William Nathaniel Leonard

William Nathaniel Leonard, “Bill” for short, was born on November 26, 1923 in Waco, Texas and passed away on April 1, 2008. He resided in Willis, Texas for the past 34 years. He is survived by his wife, Ruth R. Leonard of 64 years; his two daughters, Billie R. Read and Susan C. Williams and spouse, Orval H. Williams; and daughter-in-law, Sheila Leonard. He is preceded in death by his son William N. Leonard, Jr. (“Buddy”). He was a wonderful PawPaw to his grandchildren, Mike Read and spouse, Alice; Mark Read and spouse, Debbie; Cory Crofton and spouse, Cheryl; Natasha Bashaw and spouse, Rob; Kent Deusinger and Esmeralda; Rebecca Barrera and spouse, Freddy; Kara Trotter and spouse, Jonathan; Nicole Leonard; Cody Leonard; and Kendal Leonard. His great-grandchildren are Ryan, Reagan, Kyle and Rhett Read; Sydney and Connor Crofton; Chloe Walker, Ashley and Aubrey Barrera; Kaylee and Ryan Trotter; and Chloe Leonard. He was a loving husband, father and PawPaw who will be missed deeply. He will always be remembered for his great sense of humor. He served in World War II, for the Bryan Police Department, and Conroe Police Department. He was also a contractor and enjoyed doing wood work. Visitation will be held at Sam Houston Memorial Funeral Home in Willis, Texas on Saturday, April 5, 2008 from 10 a.m. to noon. His burial will immediately follow at Mt.
