Heavily-traveled road to be closed in Easton for months

EASTON - A bridge over a road that leads to the Merritt Parkway will be closed from Monday, June 17 through November, Easton police have announced.

The closure is needed to replace the bridge on South Park Avenue between Buck Hill Road and Marich Drive.

“South Park Avenue is a heavily-traveled commuter road near the Exit 47 Interchange on the Merritt Parkway,” police said.

“A clearly marked detour around the construction will be in place. The Easton Police Department will be monitoring the area for traffic safety concerns.”

Police note that the bridge that is being replaced is not the one-lane bridge on South Park Avenue that is south of Riverside Lane.
