HARTFORD — One city resident is dead and two others suffered non-life-threatening injuries after a triple shooting on Norwich Street Tuesday night, according to police.

Police identified the victim as 33-year-old Chaquan Jones, of Congress Street.

Patrol officers responded to Norwich Street on a ShotSpotter gunfire activation alert at 6:20 p.m., Lt. Aaron Boisvert said. He said oficers found three victims suffering from gunshot wounds.

Boisvert said two of the victims, both described as men in their 20s, were transported to the hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries. He said Jones suffered a life-threatening gunshot wound. He was rushed to the hospital, where he later died.

“It is unknown at this point what led up to the shooting,” Boisvert said.

The investigation is ongoing.
