FAIRFIELD — A $100,000 Audi A8 was stolen from a Westway Road driveway Wednesday morning.

The car, bearing Florida plates and leased by Hearst Corp., was left unlocked and a set of keys were inside. The residents said they last saw the car in the driveway at 6:30 a.m. At 11 a.m., they realized it was gone. Inside the car were two pairs of sunglasses, valued at $1,500 each. A second car in the driveway, that was also unlocked, was rummaged through but nothing was missing.

It is believed the car ended up in Waterbury. A license plate reader on a Waterbury police cruiser recorded a hit on the Audi’s registration plate at 10:44 a.m.
