Three North Stratfield School students were honored for winning first-place prizes in the statewide PTA cultural arts contest "Reflections."

Natalie Steele was awarded the state's first prize for musical composition, according to the school's PTA. She also was the only primary school pupil among six Connecticut students to earn a National Award of Excellence in Reflections national competition, the PTA said.

Margaret Murphy won the state's top prize for her dance-choreography entry.

Storm Sorrentino won first place for his visual-arts entry.

During a ceremony at the school, 31 students were recognized for participating in the program, which encourages students in preschool through grade 12 to create works of art in six areas, the PTA said. Those areas are literature, visual arts, photography, dance choreography, film/video and musical composition. This year's contest theme was "Together We Can ..."
