Police are investigating the theft of a $5,000 wedding band that reportedly taken from the hand of a woman in hospice care at the Jewish Home for the Elderly, 175 Jefferson Street.
The woman's son told police the ring was missing Tuesday. He said the ring had not been removed from his mother's finger for 65 years, adding that he believed it would have taken a significant amount of force to remove it.
The nursing home conducted its own investigation of the incident, but did not identify a suspect.
