Gray skies cleared and gave way to a palette of colorful costumes and traditions, as well as appealing cuisine, as Town Hall Green was transformed Sunday for the 9th annual Heritage India Festival.

Organized by the Hindu Cultural Center of Stratford, the event featured more than a dozen vendors offering wares such as jewelry, home décor and Indian apparel, as well as free health screenings, insurance services and educational resources.

Youngsters tried their hand at games offered by the center’s Youth Council. Yoga lessons, singing and dance performances were staged near the steps of Old Town Hall.

Restaurants like Bangalore of Fairfield and Mumbai Times of Westport offered Indian cuisine like Samosas, Chicken Tikka Masala and Mango Lassi.

And among the most popular attractions were the intricate skills demonstrated by Henna tattoo artists.
