Anne Kardamis, 94, of Fairfield, wife of the late Michael Kardamis, died April 29, 2010.
Born in Stamford to the late Rev. George Caloyianis and Maria Sergeson Caloyianis, she was a Fairfield resident for the past 50 years. She graduated from Stamford High School and accepted a job at the Hoffman Fuel Co., where she met many wonderful friends.
Kardamis lived life to the fullest and enjoyed going to the movies, shopping and tagging. Above all, she cherished her family, friends and her religion.
She is survived by her son, Paul Kardamis and his wife, Linda of Fairfield. She was the grandmother, "yiayia," to Stacey Kerkhoff and husband, Hal, and their children, Kyle and Kelsey of Taunton, Mass., Michael Kardamis and his wife, Karen, and their children, Justin and Stephen of Albany, Ga., Lisa Dupuis and her husband, Mark, and their children, Nicholas and Justin of Shelton, Todd Kardamis and his wife, Beth, and their children, Matthew and Ryan of Stratford, Leah Pomianowski and her husband, John, and their children, Hailey and Sage of Trumbull, and Dean Kardamis and his wife, Diana of Fairfield. She is also survived by a daughter-in-law, Ann Kardamis of Taunton, Mass., and several nieces and nephews.
Friends are invited to attend the funeral at 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday, May 4, at the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, 4070 Park Ave., Bridgeport; interment will follow in Oak Lawn Cemetery. Friends may greet the family on Monday, May 3, from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Shaughnessey Banks Funeral Home, 50 Reef Road, Fairfield, with a Trisagion service at 6.
