Trinity Episcopal Church will host an afternoon and evening of aerial climbing, swinging and zip-lining on Thursday, Sept. 25, to benefit the Bridgeport Rescue Mission and Bridgeport food pantries.

The event will take place from 3 to 8 p.m. at the Adventure Park at Bridgeport's Veterans Park, 4450 Park Ave. Public schools are closed that day in observance of the Jewish high holiday, Rosh Hashanah.

While wearing harnesses tethered to safety cables, adventurers can explore 11 aerial "trails" and move among 150 aerial platforms in the 90-acre park, the Southport church said in a news release.

The trails are color coded for various skill levels, the church said.

Tickets are $60 each. Tables in the park's picnic area also can be reserved for $800, a package that includes tickets for eight people, plus party favors, according to the release.

Participants can bring their own picnics or purchase food from a truck at the park. Alcohol is prohibited, the church said.

Tickets can be purchased at giving, or by sending checks, with "Climbing for Outreach on the memo line, to Trinity Church, 651 Pequot Ave., Fairfield CT 06890.
