Albert C. Moravek, 70, of Stratford and a former Fairfield resident, died March 31.

Born and raised in the West End of Bridgeport, he had been a Fairfield resident many years before moving to Stratford nearly 20 years ago. He was a Army veteran of the Vietnam War, serving as a paratrooper in the 82nd Airborne Division. He also was a first sergeant and drill instructor for the Fairfield Army Reserve, 3rd Battalion, 385th Regiment, for 22 years and belonged to the Connecticut Yankee All Airborne Chapter.

He was the owner and operator of the Park City Pest Control Co. for more than 45 years and served on the Board of Directors of the Connecticut Pest Control Association. He was a Civil War enthusiast and a musket sharpshooter who once won the National New England Championship. He also enjoyed woodworking, making model cars and creating custom pens.

Survivors include his daughter, Donna Moravek and her husband Dean Robertson of Milford; his partner of 20 years, Patricia Travers; her daughter, Nicole Travers and her husband Dereke Beaulieu and their son Dereke of Michigan; a brother, Robert Moravek and his wife Patricia of Georgia; a nephew, Robbie Moravek, and a niece, Cheri Rudolph. He was predeceased by his former wife Klara.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, April 7, in the Lesko & Polke Funeral Home, 1209 Post Road.
