Art/Place, a Fairfield artist cooperative that recently welcomed eight new members, will host a "Winter Works: Mostly White" exhibit Thursday, Jan. 10, through Saturday, Feb. 23, at its gallery, 70 Sanford St.

A public reception will take place 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 13.

The new members, elected by a jury of artist peers, include Ishita Bandyo, of Branford; Mollie Keller, of Trumbull; Grace McEnaney, of Newtown; Bevi Bullwinkel, of Fairfield; Demitri Papolos, of Fairfield; Ruth Kalla Ungerer, of Westport; Elizabeh Nagle, of New Canaan; and Paul G. Larson, of Greenwich.

Founding members include Florence Zolan, of Bridgeport, who is co-chairwoman with Diane Pollack, of Fairfield; Dave Pressler, of Shelton; Phyllis Clamage, of Stratford; Carole Cole, and Elisa Khachian, both of Fairfield; Susanne Keany and Barbara Bernstein, both of Weston; Toby Michaels and Mary Elizabeth Peterson, both of Westport; Cate Leach, of Darien; Sandra K. Meagher, of Norwalk; Mary Louise Long, of Stamford; and Martha Reinken, of Greenwich.

The artists, comprised of painters, print makers, photographers and mixed media artists, will discuss their work at a public brown bag lunch at noon Tuesday, Feb. 12.

The exhibit's works were inspired by a variety of subjects, including landscapes, the winter solstice, an old mission church in San Antonio, Texas, and works prompted by "The Tempest."

The gallery is open noon to 4 p.m. Thursday through Saturday and during special performances at the Fairfield Theatre Co.'s StageOne, in the same building.
