Arthur L. Boback
Born in Fairfield, he was the son of the late Paul and Anna Boback and had been a life-long resident prior to moving to Westerly in August. A graduate of Roger Ludlowe High School, he served in the U.S. Army and was stationed in Anchorage, Alaska, during the Korean War. He and his brother, Robert, started their own construction company. Later, he worked through the Local Union No. 478 as a large machine operator until his retirement. He also was a former member of the Knights of Columbus.
Survivors include four children, Linda Boback of Charlestown, R.I., Barbara Nuss of Clinton, David Boback of Fairfield and Paul Boback of East Greenwich, R.I.; four grandchildren, Robert and Jacqueline Boback and William and Laura Nuss; two sisters-in-law, Rose Fedorko and Barbara Boback of Trumbull; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two brothers, Robert and Jack Boback.
Funeral services will take place at 8:30 a.m. Wednesday from the Spear-Miller Funeral Home, 39 South Benson Road, and at 9:30 a.m. at Our Lady of the Assumption Church for a Mass of Christian Burial. Burial with military honors will follow in Lawncroft Cemetery. Calling hours are from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
