The executive chef of Artisan restaurant will speak Monday at the next “What’s Cooking” presentation at the Fairfield Public Library.

Frederic Kieffer will speak at 7 p.m. in the Rotary Room of the library, corner of Old Post and Post roads.

The series spotlights culinary professionals from the town’s restaurants, who discuss their background and experiences overseeing a restaurant kitchen or food business. They also talk about favorite recipes and cookbooks.

Kieffer is executive chef at Artisan, a “farm-to-table restaurant” at the Delamar hotel in the Southport section of town. It “promotes sustainable agriculture through seasonally inspired menus,” according to publicity for the program. Growing up in the French countryside west of Paris, Kieffer spent summers working in local restaurants where he developed his culinary skills.

Advance registration is required for the free program because of limited space.
