The mournful strains of bagpipe music wafted over Sherman Green on Tuesday evening, as late-summer shadows spread across downtown amid a final local tribute to the victims of the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks.

Bagpipers from the Gaelic American Club performed "Amazing Grace" and other Irish tunes during the informal tribute to the memory of the nearly 3,000 people who perished in the attacks 11 years earlier.
