Six American and world ballroom-dance champions will perform at Fairfield University's Quick Center on Saturday, Sept. 17, in "Ballroom! We Are the Champions!"

The show is scheduled for 8 p.m, kicking off the Quick Center's 2011-12 entertainment season. Headliners include an Argentine tango couple and the 13-year-old United States junior champions who were finalists on NBC's "America's Got Talent."

Also taking part will be Gherman Mustuc and Iveta Lukosiute, two-time world professional 10-dance champions (Latin and ballroom), and four-time national champions. The couple also has three times been named U.S. classical showdance champions and silver medalists for the world title. Lukosiute was a recent finalist on Fox's "So You Think You Can Dance."

World rhythm champions and four-time U.S. rhythm champions Jose DeCamps and Joanna Zacharewicz will perform. They are also the world's mambo champions and recently crowned world salsa champions. Last year, they were featured on ABC's "Dancing with the Stars."

The junior champions, 13-year-olds Patryk Ploszaj and Anna Kaczmarski, were finalists on NBC's "America's Got Talent" and performed in the show's 25-city tour. They performed a 10-dance show at Caesar's Palace in Las Vegas.

The Argentine tango pair, Ivan Terrazas and Sara Grdan, have performed the past two years in New York City Center's Fall Dance Festival.

Also on the bill are Moscow's Dmitri and Svetlana Ostashkin, who were twice the Latin champions of Eastern Europe and grand finalists at the World Showdance in Shanghai. Their signature presentations include their rhumba, "Smile," and "Big Boy Cha Cha."

Andrey and Yulia Klinchik of Ukraine will perform their waltz medley "Ave Maria."

The show is produced by Bob Beslove and its artistic director is Mariane Nicole of Stamford, a former U.S. professional showdance and cabaret champion.
