Black Rock Turnpike house stripped

Police are investigating the theft of appliances and copper from a Black Rock Turnpike house.

The caretaker for the home said when he went to check the property Thursday, he found a window open and the refrigerator missing from the kitchen. The food disposal unit and a microwave oven had been disconnected and left on the kitchen floor.

The first-floor bathroom was gutted and copper piping removed from interior walls, while upstairs two king-size mattresses were gone, along with more copper piping from the second-floor bathroom.

The lock to the basement door was broken off and a freezer, washer and dryer were missing. Copper piping was taken from the hot water heater.

The thefts occurred sometime between May and the incident report.
