Fairfield Theatre Co. will present a performance by blues guitarist John Hammond at 7:30 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 17, at StageOne, 70 Sanford St. Doors open at 7 p.m.

Hammond is a 1985 Grammy award winner who has been nominated seven more times in the past 30 years. Inducted into the Blues Hall of Fame in 2011, he has performed and recorded with Jimi Hendrix -- discovered while playing in Hammond's band -- as well as Eric Clapton, Muddy Waters, Howlin' Wolf, Duane Allman, Mike Bloomfield, JJ Cale, John Lee Hooker and other artists. He has played more than 4,000 concerts and continues to tour worldwide.

Joining Hammond will be the Duke Robillard Band. Roillard is one of the founding members of Roomful of Blues and one of the guitarists to replace the Fabulous Thunderbirds' Jimmie Vaughan in in 1990. He has won four blues awards for Best Blues Guitarist and has earned Grammy nods.
