FAIRFIELD — Police said a Brentwood Avenue man sent threatening text messages to his girlfriend.

Giulian Fanelli, 23, was charged with seond-degree breach of peace and second-degree threatening Sunday, after his girlfriend went to police headquarters to file a complaint. She told police she had been avoiding Fanelli after an argument and then received threatening text messages that he was going to destroy property in her father’s home, “end her,” and let her dog outside into traffic.

According to police, Fanelli admitted sending the text messages, but refused to provide further information.

He was released on a promise to appear in state Superior Court in Bridgeport on Aug. 6.
