Bridgeport man allegedly fled car crash
FAIRFIELD—A Bridgeport man allegedly fled the scene after running a red light and crashing into a car in an intersection.
Fabrisio DaCosta was heading south on Black Rock Turnpike when he continued through a red light and hit a car traveling east on Rakoczy Avenue on Sept. 19. The car he hit rolled into a fence. It had damage to its side and was towed from the scene.
An officer spotted and pulled over a car, which had front damage, and matched description from the incident. The driver, DaCosta, had no identification and the car’s Maryland license plate was not registered to the vehicle, according to police. The 23-year-old driver was identified by a passport at police headquarters.
DaCosta was charged with evading responsibility, misuse of a license plate, driving without a license, failure to obey a traffic signal and driving an unregistered motor vehicle. The resident of Hansen Avenue in Bridgeport has a court date of Oct. 4.
