FAIRFIELD —Defective brake lights led to the arrest of a local man, and his passenger, on drug charges.
John Vibbert, 36, was stopped by police on the Post Road at the Bridgeport line because a brake light on his car was out. After police began questioning Vibbert, and his passenger, Noelle Figueiras, 19, Figueiras turned over a bag of marijuana to the officer. Police also found a crack pipe, four wax folds containing heroin, a half-burned blunt and two small bags of crack cocaine.
Figueiras, who lives on Hollow Tree Road in Norwalk, was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of narcotics and given a ticket for possession of less than a half-ounce of marijuana. Police charged Vibbert, of Fernclife Road, Fairfield, with possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of narcotics, operating under suspension and failure to have working brake lights.
Both were released on a promise to appear in state Superior Court in Bridgeport on Aug. 29.
