A residence on Brooklawn Avenue was burglarized on Friday night, police said.

An officer responding to an activated back-door alarm at the house about 9:30 p.m. saw an individual in dark clothing in the vicinity and noticed that a door on the west side of the house was broken. The alarm was triggered a few times earlier in the week while the family, having just returned to the home, was away, police said.

The master bedroom was ransacked and an alarm panel was ripped off the wall, police said. It is unknown if anything was taken.

The incident is still under investigation.
