Denise Marchese, 46, of Fairfield was issued a summons after she collided with a silver Honda at the intersection of Bank Street and South Avenue Wednesday at 7:45 p.m.

Marchese was travelling south on South Avenue with a group of bicyclists, police said. When she was attempting to catch up with the group, she went through a red light and hit the left front fender area of the vehicle.

The operator of the vehicle was a 31-year-old female from New Canaan who said she was waiting on Bank Street for the light to turn green. Police said Marchese hit the vehicle as it was turning onto South Avenue. She was transported to Norwalk Hospital though the extent of her injuries are not known at this time.

Police issued Marchese a summons for failure to obey a red light.
