A car fire on Park Drive around 1 a.m. Thursday is under investigation, and police believe it may be linked to a robbery in West Haven.

The car, an early '90s Pontiac Grand Prix, was fully engulfed in flames. Afterward, a Connecticut license plate was found hanging off the rear bumper.

Police were unable to locate any vehicle identification numbers, and there was no current information regarding the license plate. The plate was last registered in August 2010 to a Carroll Avenue address in Bridgeport, and was for a Buick Le Sabre.

According to the report, West Haven police are investigating an armed robbery on Route 34 the night before, which may be related to the burned vehicle.
