Chabad of Fairfield plans a family menorah-making workshop and pre-Hanukkah party at the Home Depot store in Trumbull on Saturday afternoon.

The event is planned from 1 to 2:30 p.m. at Home Depot's store at 90 Monroe Turnpike, Trumbull. The event is free, and the home-improvement store will provide wood and other materials to make menorahs, Chabad said.

Latkes will be served and a character playing the role of Judah the Macabee, the hero of the Hanukkah story, will make an appearance. Children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian, Chabad said.
