To mark Fairfield's 375th anniversary, businesses can purchase street banners bearing their names or logos that will be mounted on utility poles for two months this winter.
Sponsored by the Fairfield Chamber of Commerce, the program will display banners in the downtown and Grasmere areas from mid-January to mid-March. The banners will promote sponsoring businesses, the town's anniversary in 2014 and the chamber's "Support Local Business" theme.
A chamber member can get its business logo and/or name on the front and back of a banner for $285. Additional banners are available for $150 each. The fee for nonmembers is $350 for the first banner and $175 for each additional one.
At the end of the two-month promotion, banners will be removed from utility poles and given to the sponsoring businesses as 375th anniversary keepsakes.Banners will be easy to read and made of material that will withstand bad weather.
Deadline to order is Friday, Dec. 13.
For more information or to order banners, call Mary Beth Claflin at the Chamber of Commerce at 203-255-1011.
