Christie, Lebo elected to lead Fairfield Fire Commission
Christie, an orthodontist, was a recent participant in the FireOps 101 program presented by the Fairfield, Stratford and Westport Firefighters Associations at the Fairfield Regional Fire School. He is the director of the Orthodontic Center, where he developed the "Facial Print," a computerized growth projection program. He is a member of the American Association of Orthodontists and former governing board member for the Connecticut State Dental Association and Bridgeport Dental Association, where he served as president.
Christie has also served on boards and organizations since moving to Fairfield, including the Kiwanis Club of Fairfield, Fairfield Rotary, where he was Director and President, the American Legion, and others. He also was member of the town's Golf Commission and head football coach at Fairfield University after founding the Fairfield Junior Football Program in 1965. He received the Football Coaching Award from the New York Jets, the Kiwanis Club Distinguished Service Award, the Fairfield Jaycees "Man of the Year" Award, the Rotary's Paul Harris Fellowship, Connecticut Magazine's "Top Dentist" recognition in 2008, and the U.S. Veteran's Wartime Service Medal in 2009.
Lebo was first appointed to the Representative Town Meeting in April 1991 to fill the vacancy left by Patricia King. After her election in November of that year, she was served as chairman of the Public Health and Safety Committee and officer on Public Health Subcommittees until her resignation in December 2008 to accept appointment to the Fairfield Fire Commission.
Lebo was an assistant of the Marshal Special Units for the 1992 Barnum Festival, graduated in 1997 from the Fairfield Citizen Police Academy and in 2002 from the Fairfield Citizen Fire Academy, joined the newly formed Fairfield Citizen Corps Council in 2004 as assistant coordinator, became a Citizen Police Academy Alumni Associate in 2008, and is currently a member of Fairfield's Civilian Emergency Response Team.
She is vice president of Linquist Steel in Stratford and a real estate agent with the Higgins Group of Fairfield. A fourth generation Fairfield resident, she is a parishioner and former CCD teacher at Holy Family Church, and recently worked with Swim Across The Sound on a benefit concert for the New Pancreatic and Liver Center at St. Vincent's Medical Center in memory of her late husband, guitarist and singer/songwriter Keith Lebo, and brother-in-law Jim DeSantie.
