The Connecticut Chapter of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society has named Fairfield resident Jed Coiteux a 2010 MS Corporate Achiever -- one of only eight business leaders to be named in Fairfield County.
Coiteux, a large law firm sales representative with Thomson Reuters -- West, received his bachelor's in political science and economics from the University of Rochester in Rochester, N.Y. He joined Thomson Reuters -- West in 2003.
"My wife and I are dedicated to moving research closer to a cure," Coiteux said. "We both have close friends that have multiple sclerosis, so we feel very strongly about the cause."
Coiteux was named Sales Representative of the Year for the Eastern District in 2005, 2006, 2008 and 2009.
"Mr. Coiteux is truly an effective leader within his community," said Lisa Gerrol, Connecticut Chapter president. "He is committed to raising funds in the fight against MS and devoted to ensuring quality of life for people with multiple sclerosis and other disabilities."
Established by the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, Connecticut Chapter in 2000, MS Corporate Achievers is a recognition program honoring some of Connecticut's most influential leaders, while at
the same time raising critically needed funds to ensure ongoing scientific research and provide for the continuation of vital programs and services offered by the chapter to the more than 6,000 Connecticut residents diagnosed with MS.
Honorees are nominated by their peers and selected by an advisory council for outstanding contributions to business, civic and cultural enrichment.
Through participation, honorees join an elite leadership network sharing a commitment to making Connecticut a better place to live. Since 2000, honorees have raised more than $700,000 to help end the devastating effects of multiple sclerosis.
