Tomlinson Middle School will stage its ninth annual "A Capella Night" -- featuring a lineup of middle school, high school and college groups -- on Friday evening, Feb. 8 in the school's auditorium.

The show is planned at 7 p.m. at the 200 Unquowa Road school. Tickets are $5 per person or $10 per family, available at the door.

The show's headliners are the "Bostonians" from Boston College and "L'Shir" from the University of Hartford's Hartt School of Music. They will share the bill with seven groups from Fairfield schools, organizers said in a news release.

High school groups include Fairfield Ludlowe's "Close Harmony and "A Capella Too," plus Fairfield Warde's "Muse" and "Overtones," according to the news release.

Rounding out the show are "Frawl-out Boy" from Fairfield Woods Middle School, "Middle Ground" from Roger Ludlowe Middle School and "Rolling Strones" from Tomlinson.

The first "A Capella Night" was staged in 2004 as a way to introduce the form to middle schoolk choral students, and has grown since. The guest college groups this year will spend time at the middle schools the afternoon of ythe show conducting workshops, concert organizers said.
