Actor Justin Long will spend some "reel" time with fans in his former hometown when he makes a special appearance Friday at the Community Theatre for a screening of his film, After Life.
Long, who grew up in Fairfield and graduated from Fairfield Prep, is known in addition to his movie roles as the "Mac Guy" in Apple's recent series of "Mac vs. PC" television commercials.
The program starts at 7:30 p.m. The theatre is at the downtown intersection of Post and Unquowa roads.
Long's next featured movie role will be opposite Drew Barrymore in Going the Distance, which will be released by Warner Bros. In addition, he recently completed production on The Conspirator, directed by Robert Redford and featuring Robin Wright, James McAvoy and Evan Rachel Wood.
Long has also appeared in Youth in Revolt along with Michael Cera and Steve Buscemi; the adaptation of the book, He's Just Not That Into You with Ben Affleck, Jennifer Aniston, Drew Barrymore, Ginnifer Goodwin and Scarlett Johansson; in the lead role opposite Alison Lohman in Drag Me To Hell, as well as in Zack And Miri Make A Porno, Funny People, Serious Moonlight, Live Free or Die Hard with Bruce Willis, and lent his voice to "Alvin" in the hits Alvin And The Chipmunks, Alvin And The Chipmunks: The Squeakquel and to "Lem" in Planet 51.
Long, who attended Vassar College, performed with the school's comedy troupe, Laughingstock, which led to his first starring roles such as Galaxy Quest and Jeepers Creepers. He then shifted to the small screen for his role on the quirky NBC series Ed and ventured into screen comedies with his first box-office success, Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story. From there, he went on to play roles in comedies such as Accepted and The Break Up opposite Vince Vaughn and Jennifer Aniston. He also appeared in the Adam Sandler-produced Strange Wilderness with Steve Zahn and had a cameo in Vince Vaughn's Wildwest Comedy Show.
