Two Fairfield University students are accused of vandalizing a construction vehicle on campus early Friday.

Charles Boggini, 20, of Glastonbury, and Kevin Hill, 20, of Babylon, N.Y., were charged with second-degree criminal mischief and conspiracy to commit second-degree criminal mischief.

According to police, a nearby resident reported seeing several males exit a car near the Barlow Road construction site and then heard the sound of glass breaking. Police arrived to find the front windshield of a CAT excavator smashed. Officers tracked down the car's owner, who led them to Boggini and Hill, who were arrested at 2:13 a.m.

The vandalism reportedly caused between $1,200 and $1,500 in damages.

They are scheduled to appear May 14 in Bridgeport Superior Court.
