Cops: DUI driver dozed off in McDonald’s drive-thru
A man who passed out behind the wheel of his truck in the drive-thru lane of the Post Road McDonald’s restaurant has been charged driving under the influence.
Police said they received a call around 2:30 a.m. Sunday from employees at the fast-food restaurant. They said the truck had been in the drive-thru lane for about 30 minutes.
Officers arrived to find both Joshua Peccerilli, 26, of Hickory Lane, Shelton, and his passenger, asleep, according to the report. Though the passenger woke up when approached by officers, police said it took several minutes to rouse Peccerilli.
Peccerelli failed field-sobriety tests, and throughout the process, yelled insults at officers, according to the report. He refused to go into a holding cell at police headquarters, saying, “I want to (expletive deleted) you up” and “Your whole family will die,” the police report states
After his father came to post a $100 bond, according to police, Peccerelli took off his jacket and shirt in the lobby and said, “I’m going to break your face” and “Remember what I said about your family.”
Peccerelli is scheduled to appear Feb. 9 at state Superior Court in Bridgeport.
