John Kelly, 41, of Stratfield Road, was charged with driving under the influence after a single-car accident early Sunday.
Kelly was driving east on Barlow Road when he went through a stop sign at the Round Hill Road intersection and hit the curb, a stop sign, and a street sign before continuing into the yard at 518 Round Hill Road about 12:30 a.m. Sunday, according to the report. He drove through landscaped flower beds before coming to rest after hitting some shrubs, police said.
Kelly failed field sobriety tests and told officers he did not see the stop sign, police said.
He was also charged with failing to obey a stop sign and failure to drive in the proper lane. Kelly was released on a $100 bond and is scheduled to appear April 14 at state Superior Court in Bridgeport.
