Cops: DUI driver tries to leave eatery by own ‘exit’
A 54-year-old Barberry Road woman got hung up, and ultimately arrested, when she tried to drive away from a Post Road restaurant Friday afternoon.
An officer on patrol about 4:30 p.m. spotted a car driven by Judy Badeau that was stuck atop the curb behind Geronimo’s, 2070 Post Road. Badeau, however, kept trying to move the car forward, spinning its tires, according to the report.
Badeau had apparently through the lot, over the curb, and was trying to head down a 7-foot incline onto North Pine Creek rather than using the restaurant’s driveway. Her speech was slurred and she failed field sobriety tests, police said.
Badeau was charged with during under the influence. She was released after posting a $100 bond, and is scheduled to appear Nov. 10 at state Superior Court in Bridgeport.
