Cops: Fairfield woman made false '911' report
A woman who called police to report that her husband was hitting her was arrested herself for misusing the "911" emergency line.
Pamela Rist, 54, of Fiske Street, called 911 around 4:15 p.m. Wednesday to report that her husband had struck her in the face during a dispute that was still ongoing. She asked that officers be dispatched with their squad cars' lights and sirens activated. When they arrived at the home, they found her husband walking up the driveway to the house, having just arrived there himself.
Dispatchers and police said Pamela Rist continued to change her story, at one point saying incident occurred around 2 a.m. They found no evidence of any injuries to Rist, who then was charged with misuse of the 911 system.
She was released on a promise to appear May 17 in Bridgeport Superior Court.
