Cops: Kohl's employee swipes co-worker's cell phone
A Bridgeport woman stole a co-worker's cell phone from the bathroom at Kohl's department store, 290 Tunxis Hill Road, on Saturday, police said.
The victim said she left her $600 Galaxy 4S in the bathroom around 6 p.m., and when she returned a half-hour later, it was gone. She then called her phone and the woman who answered said she would return it for $100. A review of the store's video surveillance showed that a co-worker, identified as Kamarra Semedo, 21, of Hawley Avenue in Bridgeport, entered the bathroom six minutes after the victim left.
Using the GPS tracking feature on the phone, the phone was tracked to Hawley Avenue, police said. An officer went to that address, where the phone was found, according to the report.
Semedo was charged with fifth-degree larceny by possession and released on a promise to appear Nov. 5 in Bridgeport Superior Court.
