A Brooklyn, N.Y., man who police said became upset at a family party and broke a toilet tank that flooded the bathroom of a Rowland Road home Sunday night, was charged with disorderly conduct.
Cihan Cagatay, 33, took offense at a comment made by his cousin's husband, according to the report, and became verbally aggressive. To try to calm Cagatay, his girlfriend brought him into the bathroom, police said, and while there, he somehow broke the toilet tank, which caused about 2 inches of water to flood the floor.
At police headquarters, another charge was filed against Cagatay for refusing to be fingerprinted, police said.
Alcohol may have played a role in the incident, police said.
Cagatay was released on a $1,000 bond and was scheduled to appear Monday in Bridgeport Superior Court.
