A Bridgeport woman was arrested after police said she hid jewelry on herself and in her 2-year-old son's stroller Wednesday morning at Kohl's department store.
Virginia Quechol Cuahuizo, 40, of Poplar Street in Bridgeport, was charged with sixth-degree larceny and two counts of risk of injury to a minor. Cuahuizo allegedly had her son and 9-year-old daughter with her when she stole $211 worth of jewelry, police said. The children were turned over to their father's custody and the Department of Children and Families was notified.
She was released on a promise to appear July 20 in Bridgeport Superior Court.
