Cops respond to report of fighting in the street
UPDATE: According to the state's attorney, the case against Sean Morrison was dismissed.
FAIRFIELD — A fight among brothers early Sunday morning led to the arrest of one of the trio.
Police were called to the Grey Goose, 246 Old Post Road, on a report of three men fighting in the street. When officers arrived, one of the brothers, Sean Morrison, 22, of Cross Highway, said they were arguing over sports, and they were simply “grappling” with each other with no punches thrown.
His two brothers, however, said they were arguing with Morrison about not attending their grandfather’s birthday. They said the argument was only verbal, with one explaining a scrape on his arm came happened on a boat. The other brother said his chest was red from from being inside the bar. Both were wearing shirts that looked like they had been pulled and stretched, police said.
An employee at the bar said the three were waiting on the patio for their Uber ride when he could hear yelling. When he got to the patio, he told police he saw Morrison allegedly choking one of his brothers. The employee tried to break up the fight, and said Morrison also repeatedly punched his brother with a closed fist. The fight then moved into the street.
Morrison was charged with second-degree breach of peace and released on a promise to appear in state Superior Court in Bridgeport on Aug. 6.
