The Fairfield Public Library Woods Branch will hold a new, two-session class on "Couponing 101" from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Mondays, Jan. 23, and 30, at the library, 1147 Fairfield Woods Road.

The class will strive to help shoppers determine if they should take the time to clip coupons and how to successfully use the coupons they have stacked in their drawers. The class, which will include coupon exchanging and giveaways, will also explain where to find coupons and how to apply them to organic products.

Jamie Lee McIntyre RD CD-N, Grade A ShopRite dietician, will discuss healthy couponing during the first session. Both classes will be facilitated by Marilyn Zelinsky-Syarto, consumer expert and founder of Two Frugal Fairfielders, a local blog.

Participants should bring a pen, small scissors, sticky notes, coupons, a small empty photo box, a box of white 3-by-6 envelopes that fit upright into the box, a binder, a handful of baseball card holder sleeves and binder dividers. They may also bring a lunch, if they would like.

All programs at the library are open to the public and free of charge. Registration is necessary. Register at or call 203-255-7308 for information.
