The Cultural Alliance of Fairfield County has elected the new president of its board of directors and board members at a recent annual meeting.

Elisabeth Morten, a Tony Award-nominated producer from Fairfield, is the new president, succeeding Fritz Jellinghaus, who served as president since July 2010, according to a release from the alliance.

Morten, president and chairwoman of the Westport Country Playhouse's board of trustees from 2000 to 2009, served as an investment officer and securities analyst for U.S. Steel Pension Fund and Citibank.

Having begun her profesional life as a singer, she produced the Guildfest Concert Series in Southport and is currently the chairwoman of the playhouse's Honorary Trustee Committee.

She also is a member of the playhouse, the Broadway League, the National Council of American Theatre and the Connecticut Arts Alliance.

The alliance also welcomed Gay Tice of Fairfield to its board of directors. She currently serves on the board of trustees for the Fairfield Theatre Company and has served on the boards of the Discovery Museum and the Sasqua Garden Club. She also has had active roles with the Connecticut Audubon and Birdcraft Museum, the Fairfield Museum and History Center, Eagle Hill School and the playhouse, among other institutions.

Recently re-elected board members include Anne Keefe of Weston, Lynette Turner of Milford, Gregg Dancho of Stratford, Nancy Freiler of Shelton, Kim Healey of New Canaan, and Gillian Anderson of Trumbull.

Other board members are Tony Bosco of Stamford, Jeffrey Danile of New Canaan, Charlotte Hommel and Bill Kraus of Fairfield, and Patrick Morrow of Norwalk.

The alliance, 70 Sanford St., was founded in July 2008 with the mission of supporting cultural organizations, artists and creative businesses by providing promotion, services and advocacy.
