Donald P. Henry, 82, died March 19, 2010, at St. Vincent's Medical Center in Bridgeport, surrounded by his family.

Born in New Britain to Peter T. Henry and M. Frances Rainer Henry, he was the eldest of four children. Henry was a veteran of World War II.

A graduate of Bentley College in Waltham, Mass., he worked for General Electric during his entire 46-year career, beginning as a traveling auditor and ending in corporate treasury in Fairfield.

For many years, Henry was an Eucharistic minister at St. Pius X Parish in Fairfield.

An avid crossword puzzle fan, he always looked out for others and loved spending time with his family. He lived in Fairfield for the past 42 years and previously resided in Syosset, N.Y.

Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Elizabeth Schafer Henry; his children, Kathleen A. Henry and Mary Beth Henry, both of Fairfield, Christopher P. Henry of Guilford and Nancy H. Davis and her husband, Bob of Shelton; as well as two grandchildren, Michael and Katelyn Davis. In addition, he is survived by his two sisters, Teresa Scopellite and her husband, Frank of Tucson, Ariz., and Sister Teresa M. Henry of Trumbull; as well as many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his brother, Joseph P. Henry of Lindenhurst, N.Y.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Thursday, March 25, at St. Pius X Church, Fairfield; interment will follow in Oak Lawn Cemetery, Fairfield. Friends may call today, March 24, from 5 to 8 p.m. in the Spear-Miller Funeral Home, 39 South Benson Road, Fairfield.
