Carolyn Capshaw, 50, of Easton, was charged with driving under the influence and failure to drive in the proper lane around 1 a.m. Saturday after an officer allegedly saw her driving erratically on Black Rock Turnpike near Tahmore Drive.

She crossed the road's double-yellow center line several times, according to police records, and once pulled over, there was a strong odor of alcohol on her breath, police said.

When she got out of the vehicle her legs were unsteady, police said.

Capshaw, according to Sgt. Sue Lussier, a Fairfield police spokesperson, admitted to drinking two glasses of wine. She was taken to police headquarters after failing field sobriety testing.

Her bond was set at $100 bond for a Dec. 13 appearance in Bridgeport Superior Court.
