Daughter arrested for allegedly shoving father to floor
FAIRFIELD — Megan Cody, 24, of Southport Woods Drive, is facing charges after she allegedly pushed her 64-year-old father to the floor during an argument Saturday afternoon.
Cody was charged with third-degree assault on an elderly victim and second-degree breach of peace. She was released on a promise to appear in state Superior Court in Bridgeport on Monday.
According to the police report, Cody’s father is a resident of a local nursing home and had checked himself out. The argument apparently started because Cody did not think her father was taking his medications as scheduled. An officer had been called to the residence earlier, and both agreed that Cody would allow her father to have control over the medications.
After the officer left, however, Cody allegedly pushed her father in the face, knocking him to the ground. When the officer was called back to the home, he said, the father had a bruise under his eye that was not there before.
