Mary Lou DeRosa of Fairfield has been named vice provost for special academic programs at Sacred Heart University. She previously had been dean of University College.

In her new role, DeRosa will manage the enrollments for 700 part-time adult students and the regional Stamford campus and manage the University College portfolio, which includes winter and summer intersession and noncredit units.

Additional responsibilities will include online initiatives as well as summer programs for high school students. She also co-chairs the Strategic Planning Financial Strengths Committee.

Since arriving at Sacred Heart 1995, DeRosa has worked in a variety of administrative roles.
