SARATOGA SPRINGS — Wednesday's meeting of the Design Review Commission was canceled after the owners of 65 and 69 Phila St., Saratoga Springs asked that their request to demolish the historic houses be taken off the agenda. The principals of Helen Case LLC, the houses' owners, want more time to prepare their application. The demolition request was the only item on the agenda.

The houses, dating from the 1850s and vacant and decaying over the past decade, are in the East Side Historic District. Neighbors have been outspoken in their opposition to the request and said they want to see the Italianate style homes restored.

The commission is expected to take up the application again at its Feb. 10 meeting, to be held via Zoom. To comment,  e-mail jennifer.merriman@saratoga-springs.org before noon Feb. 10.
