Diane H. Feigenson, 67, of Fairfield, died Sept. 12 at the Smilow Cancer Hospital in New Haven.

Born in the Bronx, N.Y., she was the daughter of Sidney and Lillian Hecht. A Fairfield resident for 25 years, she earned a bachelor's degree at City College, a master of arts degree at Columbia University, and was a PhD candidate at New York University.

She taught literature and creative writing more than 20 years at Fairfield University, where she was a faculty member in the English department. She helped develop the school's multi-cultural and interdisciplinary curriculum. She also was involved in Holocaust study and remembrance, both at Fairfield University and the community.

She also was a sculptor, working with stone. Her pieces have been featured in print media and displayed in art galleries.

Survivors include her sons, Andrew and Robert; a daughter-in-law, Yan Zhou; granddaughter, Julia, and sister, Helane.

Services took place Wednesday, Sept. 14. Burial was in Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Hawthorne, N.Y. Memorial contributions may be made to the Feigenson Family Fund at St. Vincent's Medical Center, Bridgeport.
