A dinner and concert featuring live Motown music will take place Friday night, May 17, at the Gaelic American Club to benefit services for victims of domestic violence, child abuse and sexual assault.
"Rockin' Around the Decades: A Night at the Apollo" will be performed by Band Together, a group of area musicians who play benefit concerts for nonprofits that help families in need.
Proceeds will benefit the Center for Women and Families of Eastern Fairfield County, which provides free, confidential services to victims of domestic violence, child abuse and sexual assault in Fairfield and five other communities.
Tickets are $125 and include dinner, the show, an auction and dancing.
The event is from 7 to 11 p.m. at the 74 Beach Road club.
In addition to Fairfield, the center serves victims of domestic and sexual assault in Bridgeport, Easton, Monroe, Stratford and Trumbull.
Event organizers said they hoped to make "Rockin' Around the Decades" an annual fundraiser, with a different decade selected each year.
Tickets are available at www.cwfefc.org/events.html, by calling Sarah Lubarsky at 203-334-6154, ext. 31, or by emailing her at email@example.com.
