'Dog-luring' obstacle course opens in Southport

Lucky Dog Fun Run, an obstacle course for dogs designed to lure teh animals through their paces, has been opened at 77 Arbor Drive in Southport by Pat Kiely and Nancy Beider.

The business offers dogs a chance to chase artificial bait attached to a retractable line while running through an obstacle course. The activity enables canines to, among other things, get needed exercise, develop flexibility and agility and socialize with other dogs, according to the owners.

A Halloween costume party will be held Saturday, Oct. 29, and Sunday, Oct. 30, during which pet owners who dress their dogs in costumes will receive a third obstacle run for free.

Hours are, weather permitting, 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday and Friday, 10 a.m to 5 p.m. Saturday and noon to 5 p.m. Sunday.
