Dorothy Lutar Horvath Orose, 73, of Southport, N.C., and a former Fairfield resident, died Aug. 30, 2010, in her home.

Born in Bridgeport, she was the daughter of the late Martin and Grace Horvath Lutar. She had lived in Fairfield many years before moving to North Carolina in 1993. Before her retirement, she worked for several restaurants and catering facilities, including the Fairfield County Hunt Club. While living in Fairfield, she was a member of Holy Cross Church, and was active in the Ladies Guild. In Southport, N.C., she was a member of the Red Hats Society, a volunteer for Dosher Hospital and member of the local VFW.

She was predeceased by her first husband, Robert Horvath; her second husband, Frank Orose, and brother, Martin Lutar Jr.

Survivors include a sister, Katherine Dezenzo, and her husband, Raymond, of Milford; two nephews, Raymond Dezenzo Jr. and his wife, Donita, of Massachusetts, and Donald Dezenzo, of Milford; great-nieces and great-nephews, Thoam, Amy, Nik, Donald Jr. and Stephanie Dezenzo, Amanda Rivera and her husband, Jeffrey, and their daughter, Arianna; stepdaughters, Donna Pfister and her husband, Wayne, of Stratford; Judy Farkas and her husband, Kevin, of Derby; Sandy Brady and her husband, Doug, of Clinton; step-grandchildren, Jill Duhancik, Jodi Pfister, Corey Parady, Carrie Pfister, Tina Fearnly, Tony Frouge, Nick Agvent and Toni Ciarlegio; step-great-grandchildren, James and Justin Duhancik, Tyler Parady, and Jake, Sean and Alexa Fearnley.

Funeral services are set for 10:45 a.m. Saturday at the Lesko & Polke Funeral Home, 1209 Post Road, and 11:30 a.m. in Holy Cross Church. Burial will be in Lawncroft Cemetery, Fairfield.
