Gregory Moran, 44, of Bridgeport, was charged with driving under the influence and cocaine possession of a narcotic substance shortly after 1 a.m. Tuesday.

After Moran was spotted driving erratically and drove over the Kings Highway median, near Longfellow Avenue, an officer allegedly detected a strong odor of alcohol. Moran, according to police records, failed field sobriety testing.

In addition, he was found in possession of a small bag containing a white powder that later tested positive for cocaine, police said.

Moran, who has a Nov. 16 date at Bridgeport Superior Court for the DUI charge, was released on a promise to appear. However, he had to post $50 bond for the drug possession charge, for which he also has a Nov. 16 court date.
